Attendance

It is a legal requirement that parents ensure that their children attend school regularly and punctually. If your child is unable to attend school, please contact us by telephone on the first day of the absence and give your child a note explaining the reason for the absence on their return to school. It is particularly important that you contact the school if your child is not returning to school in the afternoon. This saves us a great deal of worry if we know that there is a reason for the afternoon absence.

We would urge parents to avoid absences due to holidays in term times and stress that absence from school can lead to lower attainment levels.

Appointments – please try to make these out-with school hours. Appointments during the school day should be notified to the school in advance.
