Primary 3 are all ready to learn!
Home Learning and General Information:
P3s will be given their Home Learning jotter soon - please cover this and make sure their name is written on it clearly. Home Learning is generally handed out on Thursday and is expected to be returned on Wednesday. There will be a choice of tasks to complete [on a grid] - spelling, reading and maths. Encourage your child to get into the habit of practising something every night, for at least 5 minutes. This could be reading, spelling words, times tables etc.
Spelling - use the spelling menu to select a different activity each week to practise each of your spelling words.
Reading - use the reading menu, however there may be additional reading tasks sent home that are particular to your child's reading book.
Maths - pick one maths activity per week from the Maths Menu. Most of these activities should be familiar as we do similar ones at mental maths time! Please complete the activity in your jotter.
P.E. is on Tuesday [Mrs Cooper] and Wednesday with myself. Please ensure both indoor and outdoor kits are in school.
Reading Folders should be in school every day, as they are also used to carry letters etc home in. Ideally reading should be completed a couple of times to ensure a good understanding of the text, however if there is a lot to read try to skim over the text again the night before reading is to be done in class.
Any queries, please do not hesitate to get in touch or write a comment on your child's reading record.
